As part of the project series "Material as Design Impulse", a student project led by Prof. Bernd Benninghoff took place in the summer semester 2014 in the Interior Architecture course at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, which dealt with the design possibilities of fiber composites. In close collaboration with the cooperation partners M&K felts and the Felt factory Fulda new processing techniques and possible applications of the material in the context of product and space were researched. The results of the project were so convincing that the newly founded company CABS DESIGN set itself the task of further developing the student concepts together with the designers into marketable products ready for series production.
